Elect
For the past 25 years, Karen Lawson has practiced in every aspect of the law-from defender to prosecutor-civil and criminal. Her professional practice has focused on protecting children and families.
It is her belief that Juvenile Court is the arena where her experience and leadership can make a difference by helping, directing, and shaping youngsters morals and values for the future of our County.
Karen was appointed by Judge William W. Weaver to serve as magistrate in Lake County Juvenile Court. She presides over delinquency, unruly, abuse, neglect, and dependent cases and child support matters. She also serves as Acting Judge in Painesville Municipal Court for Judge Michael A. Cicconetti.
Professionally, Karen is probably best known to the residents of Lake County for her work as a Lake County Assistant Prosecutor while Congressman Steven C. LaTourette was the County Prosecutor. She was assigned the responsibility of successfully prosecuting Kirtland cult matriarch Alice Lundgren.
Congressman LaTourette also entrusted her with the responsibility of prosecuting rape, sexual assault, and child abuse cases. In this capacity, Karen successfully prosecuted dozens of criminals.
These types of cases are difficult and emotionally trying and require a tough, yet compassionate approach.
Her experience in this capacity is what makes Karen Lawson the best candidate for Juvenile Court Judge.
Support Karen Lawson for Juvenile Court Judge.
